3 days Sahara desert tour from Fes and Back

Day 1: Fes>> Ifrane >> Azrou > Ceder forests > Midelt >> Erfoud >> Merzouga

At 8:00, you will begin your 3-day Imperial desert journey from Fez to Sahara desert. On your way to Midelt, you will cross the Atlas Mountains and the cedar trees of the middle Atlas. You will pass through Ifrane, a lovely ski resort, and Azrou, a significant handicraft centre specializing in cedar wood works. In Azrou’s Ceder forests, you will stop for a rest and have a free time with the playful monkeys of the forest. Lunch will be in Midelt the capital of apples. We will drive to Erfoud and into the desert in the afternoon. When you arrive at Erg Chebbi’s dunes, a short off-road leads to the edge of the golden dunes, where camels await your arrival. Your luggage will be loaded into a 4×4 car and taken to the camp, where you may have a lovely camel ride across the sand dunes. In the middle of the majestic golden dunes of Merzouga upload yourself with positive energy and enjoy the magnificent sunset. You can also enjoy sandboarding in the soft sand. The camel ride to reach your camp takes 1 hour each way. The camel man will take you to the best spot where you can take pictures and enjoy the best sunset in your life. In the camp, you will be welcomed with tea, date fruits and the beautiful smiles of Berbers. After a cup of mint tea, you will be shown your luxury private tents with private bathroom and shower. Your tent will be equipped with all amenities and comfortable beds. While the dinner is being prepared, you can relax and have shower with hot water or have a walk exploring the area. After dinner, the feast will start. You will be sitting around campfire under a starry night. You will be dancing singing and exchange thought and culture with Berbers. After the feast, you can have a short walk in dunes and enjoy the shiny sky; we hope you see a shooting star 🙂

Day 2: Merzouga local sightseeing tour to the nomads

After a fresh breakfast in the camp, a big day in the Sahara starts. On this day, you will discover the treasure that the Sahara desert hides and turn around the massive golden dunes. Your day will start with a visit to the oasis of Hassi Lbid. Then you will visit the lake of Srij, the stop station of migratory birds. In addition, you will visit the village of Khamlia. Khamlia is a small village of black skin people that were brought from sub-Saharan countries as slaves. After emancipation, they settled near the dunes and built a music Dar where they play the spiritual music of Gnawa. The lunch of this day will be so special! After that, you will visit the other side of the dunes, meet a nomad family, and have a cup of tea with them. In the afternoon, you can have a walk to witness the sunset in the middle of the dunes, and charge your soul with positive vibes.

Day 3: Errachidia >> Midelt >> Cedar Forest >> Ifrane >> Fes or  transfer back to Marrakech

Wake up early, climb to the nearby dunes and enjoy the wonderful sunrise. After your fresh breakfast, pack your luggage and ride back the camels to start your drive to Fes. On the way to the imperial city of Fes, you will pass along the Ziz valley and tremendous Ziz gorges. You will stop in the panoramic view of Ait Shakker to enjoy the magnificent bird view of the Ziz valley. Lunch will be in Midelt in one of the local restaurants. Then you will hit the road to Azrou and stop in the cedar forest to take pictures with the playful monkeys. Before reaching Fes through Ifrane. You will visit the famous lion statue of Ifrane and get to know its story. In Fes, we will make sure that you get to your next residence.
